Shining the Light on Youth as WE Become the New Voices for Peace

We care about world peace. Peace with our friends, our bosses, our families, our countries, our world, and inside of our own skin.

But how do we get involved? What can WE do? How do we connect with the right people and lend our voices and hearts and hands to the quest for peace in the world?

That’s why we’ve created the Youth Rising for Peace Summit – the first ever 24-hour global telesummit featuring young adult voices for peace from almost every time zone.

Youth Rising is about shining the light on the positive roles we’re playing in our families, schools, communities, nations and the world.

And we’re making it known globally that we, as the younger generation, are passionate, aware and poised for powerful leadership in the coming years.

Join us and you’ll be introduced to a full spectrum of peacebuilding activities – from inner peace to international peace – empowering you to connect with the cause that inspires you, take the actions you’re called to take, and be connected to a community of global peers who are just as passionate about peace as you are.

A Shout Out to Be the Peace... Wherever You Are

Do you want to help bring peace to your family, school, community, country, world or with the environment? Do you want to learn how to work for peace and be peace at the same time?

There’s no such thing as doing too little or too much for peace.

No matter what your path may be – personal, local or global, The Youth Rising for Peace Summit can help you find it.

Igniting Your Passion for Peace

This is not an event of agenda-wedded politicians and government leaders. Youth Rising for Peace is about YOU and your peers who are passionate about peace.

Thousands from our generation will gather virtually to hear from and interact with dozens of peacebuilders – from New Zealand, Japan, Israel/Palestine, Costa Rica and every place in between – all talking about the ideas, programs and projects that inspire them. So you can get inspired, too!

Here are some of the ways you can take action through Youth Rising:

  • Promote legislation to reduce youth violence in America and to prevent genocide globally.
  • Participate in a global peace essay and artwork contests that need your creativity and vision
  • Submit a video to Deepak Chopra’s video contest about peace as a lifestyle
  • Help reduce nuclear arms around the world
  • And more!

You’ll also learn how you can play an active role in the upcoming Summer of Peace 2012, an unprecedented event that will activate the largest global commitment to peace over one season.

What’s Your Piece for Peace?

You’ve got work, creative projects, friends, and family – a life. We get it.

The Youth Rising for Peace Summit is here to be a real-time peace resource. So you can find out what’s happening and how to tap into it, and do “your piece for peace” in a way that you are called to do.

We’ll highlight the thousands, if not millions, of young adults actively involved in playing positive peacebuilding roles and showcase some of the best peace organizations out there.

And to keep it real, we’ll shine the light on the challenges youth are facing, including those experiencing deadly conflicts, victimization as child soldiers and sex slaves, living homeless on the streets – and point to efforts underway to address these horrible atrocities.

So, join us. The world needs your voice. The world needs your passion.
